But if you really want to connect with others in life, at home or in the office, it is important to understand more about your own personality first. This will help you know how you want to be treated and perhaps motivated. The 4 Personality Types

Descriptions of the 4 Personality Types

DOMINANT – Driver

Outgoing >> Task Focused

As a D, you aspire for those with whom you work to have immediate results so they are aligned more closely with you. You tend to provide an opportunity for a “small win” so they feel content and look to you for further leadership. Be sure to inspire and not intimidate, and you will move into your key strengths.

  • If you FEAR you are LOSING CONTROL or BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, you will attempt to DOMINATE.
  • To STAY FOCUSED you need CHALLENGE and CONTROL

INFLUENCER –  Inspiring

Outgoing >> People Focused

As an I, you have a natural ability to relate. You are great are making contact with people and initiating relationships. This is a key strength. Be sure to have systems or support in place to ensure timely and effective follow through to position yourself for true success.

  • If you FEAR you are NOT ACCEPTED and APPRECIATED, you will do even more to GET ATTENTION.
  • To STAY FOCUSED, you need to EXPRESS YOURSELF and BE CREATIVE.

STABLE – Steady

Reserved >> People Focused

As an S, you make sure a group is relaxed and comfortable. Mediating problems is also one of your key strengths. Your ability to be transparent and authentic with people resonates best with them.

  • If you FEAR you are NOT SECURE, you will WITHDRAW from the situation.
  • To STAY FOCUSED, you need SECURITY and to BE APPRECIATED

COMPLIANT – Correct

Reserved – Task Focused

As a C, you have the ability to create order, and that is a key strength that many individuals and companies want and need. Lean into this key strength as you execute, remembering you can always go back and make it better. The key is creating and executing the plan, while tweaking along the way.

  • If you FEAR you are BEING CRITICIZED, you will ANALYZE MORE and TAKE LESS ACTION.
  • To STAY FOCUSED, you need CLEAR EXPECTATIONS and TIME TO THINK

More About Helmut Herder

With over 40 years working in many positions in the business world, Mr. Helmut Herder previously retired as an executive from an electrical engineering manufacturing company. A month after retiring he started consulting for a European Manufacturing company. That did not fulfill him, so he pursued his dream of working more to help people.

“Getting results that impact people’s lives became a passion for me so I decided to up my game and massively invest in my growth. I became a certified John Maxwell Coach, Leadership Trainer, DISC Trainer and Elite Mastermind Facilitator.”  – H. Herder

Today I use my education, life experience and training to help individuals. I prefer coaching and training in a one on one format that is ideal for business executives. Sadly most people never come to the awareness that they sabotage themselves. They blame the state of the economy, the time not being right, the marketplace, the job market, the competition and any other excuse outside of themselves to not do what they know they should have done a long time ago.
